STOMP

So the last time I posted an entry about Matt and I seeing a show together at Jesse Hall, it was 2 Christmas's ago and I was banging my head against the wall after enduring The Nutcracker. This time, I'm happy to report, I LOVED STOMP and had a fantastic time tonight.

If you're not familiar with STOMP, it's percussion/dance/music/athleticism/rhythm/comedy/sheer amazingness all rolled into one show. They take everyday objects and make music from them in some pretty amazing ways. My favorite numbers were the brooms, the cigarette lighters, the sticks and most of all, the thing they are most famous for, the trash cans/lids. It was awesome! I can't stop my feet from tapping. Even my typing on the keyboard sounds like it's got a beat and a rhythm to it. :)
We wanted to see them on Broadway while we were in NYC but sadly we didn't get the chance. I'm so glad the touring company came to Columbia. What a treat!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE stomp too! I don't think I've ever seen the official show but in Riverdance they have bits and pieces of it and on Step it Up and Dance they do that genre. I'm with you, some other shows make me want to do something drastic, but not one like that!!
