What's wrong with me?

So last week it was leaving my purse in the Dillard's dressing room and today I left my cell phone in the waiting room at the Drs. office (thank heavens I called it and they answered and said they had it). What is wrong with me? Recently I've been forgetting things and spacing things out like crazy. I'm normally very responsible and on top of stuff, but this last couple of weeks I swear I'm just loosing my mind! I don't know if I'm experiencing early dementia or if I've just been overly stressed out the last month or so. Who knows. But whatever the case, I can see this problem ultimately culminating in leaving Brooke in the shopping cart at Wal-Mart, or forgetting to pick them up from the day care when we leave the gym. Something has to be done before I start adding salt to the Kool-Aid or...horror of all horrors...forget and start drinking diet Coke instead of Pepsi!

Catchin' up on the Funniness

So I haven't posted any funny Jenna things lately, but that's not to say their hasn't been any. She is constantly cracking me up. Here's just few from the past month or so that have made me chuckle.

Jenna recently watched Aladdin for the first time a couple weeks ago. She calls the bad guy Jafar, "Jafarted." She has no idea what a fart is, but it cracks me up when she says it. (How 3rd grade is that?)

About a month ago my mom got a special treat for Jenna at the grocery store. The next time we were over at my mom's, my mom said, Jenna I have a special treat for you. My mom gave her a pack of Dora animal crackers. Jenna was so excited! She ran out to me and said, Look Mom! I'm gunna sell these on Ebay!

The other night, after asking Jenna at least 10 Xs to put her PJs on, I finally stuck her in her crib and said I wouldn't come get her out until she had put her PJs on. A few minutes later I heard her calling me in there. I go in and, yes, she has her pjs on...ON TOP of her clothes. "What are you doing putting your pjs on top of your clothes?" I ask her. You didn't say to take my clothes off, she says, totally smirking at me like the little imp that she is.

Whenever Jenna asks to do something that she's too young to do, I always respond, "when you're a mommy you can do such and such." So today I was scrubbing the toilet while she and Brooke were taking a bath (I always clean their bathroom while they're bathing...two birds...) Anyway, she's watching me clean the toilet and she says, "I can't wait until I'm a mommy and I can wear make-up and clean toilets." Yep, I thought, that's about me in a nut shell! :)

The Case of the Missing Purse

Yesterday I had quite a scare after shopping in St. Louis. My mom, dad, me and the girls went to St. Louis to do some wedding shopping and look for bridesmaid dresses and a dress for my mom. Anyway, I didn't realize anything was wrong until I started looking for my phone around Kingdom City to call Matt and tell him we were almost home (Kingdom city is about 1 1/2 hours from St. Louis, 20 minutes from my house). Anyway...no phone. No phone=No purse, because my phone was in my purse. So now I'm freaking out because I've never lost my purse before. I loose my keys, shoes, jewelry, sunglasses and many more things all of the time, but I've never lost my purse. So, I'm sort of in panic mode by now, worrying about who could have stolen my purse and thinking how embarrassing that would be because I had like 6 used tissues from my booger nosed girls stuffed in there. Well, I called 411 and got the number to the mall. No luck. They didn't have it. But the customer service lady said that the department stores keep their own lost and found. Great! So I called Dillard's and behold, they had it! I was so relieved. Thankfully they'll ship it for me, but the lady said she could ship it for $5.95 and it would take 10-17 days. Now, I don't mean to sound ungrateful, but 10-17 days, come on! What am I supposed to do during that time? I can't drive, shop or call people because all those essential elements are in my purse! I told her I would be willing to pay WHATEVER price for her to overnight it to me. The best she could do was $20 for a 2-3 delivery. I'll take it. Anyway, in the mean time you'll still see my silver van parked outside the gym and probably Wal-Mart. So for any cops that may be reading this (none I'm sure), take it easy on the silver van operating without a license. I've had a rough week.

Drop the Mop?

Okay my bloggy friends, I desperately need your help. For about the past year I have been mopping with one of those sponge type mops. Something like this.

Well, it is disgusting and I can't stand it any longer, but I don't know where to turn. Things I hate about my current mop: 1). You cannot wash it, so it looks filthy and I feel like I'm just spreading around nastiness. I soak it in bleach water, but it still looks gross. 2). I doesn't ring out very well, so it makes the floor soaking wet. Okay, those are my two main beefs, so what I need are some suggestions! These are two things I've been thinking about. Tell me what you think. The Swiffer WetJet. I have a Pledge "Grab It" type thing which was good when we had wood floors, but I didn't feel like it was "deep cleaning" enough for the kitchen floor. It was more just like dusting the floor. Is this Swiffer WetJet any better? I've been thinking about one of those "string mops" because I think you can unscrew the stringy part and put it in the washing machine. However, then I'd have to get something to wring it out with. So herein lies my problem. I don't want to waste money on something that doesn't work. I can and do hand mop my floors, but come on...how often do we really want to do that. I refuse to hand mop more than once per week, so I need something for the in between times.

PLEASE lend me you expert advice. I know many of you are great clean freaks like myself, so pass on the knowledge. (PS, I cannot afford a Scoomba, or anything else that costs above about $40 bucks)!

9 Months and Walking

I can't believe that my little new born baby (which is how I still think of her) is starting to walk. Brooke turned 9 months old yesterday and has just started walking a little this week. I started walking at 9 1/2 months, so early walking must be in the genes. Personally, I think her early crawling/walking has to do with her inherent desire for self preservation. The more stationary she remains, the easier a target she is for a certain someone, who, for the sake of anonymity, we'll call J. Morgan...or perhaps Jenna M. (this is supposed to be an allusion to Pride and Prejudice...the LDS version...anyone get it?) Regardless, I just can't believe that Brooke is going to be walking and talking all over this place before I know it. Sheesh...you'd think I'd be used to having two kids by now!

That's jacked up!

So this is my first and probably only installment of what I'm calling, "That's jacked up!" (My version of 20/20 reporter John Stossel's "Give me a Break!") Anyway, this feeling was prompted today during my continuing obsession with the Super Tuesday election coverage on CNN. There is just something jacked up with an election process in which Mitt Romney can win the simple majority of caucus votes, but then ultimately loose because they are forced to vote again and (akin to 7th grade politics) certain people switch their votes (aka gang up) just so Romney won't win. It's totally ridiculous and completely degrades the democratic process. What ever happened to "The most votes wins...period." Legislators have made the voting system in America so confusing and inherently unfair, that it just makes me think....That's jacked up!

Hospital Bound

Well, life is settling back down to normal after having Jenna in the hospital for a couple days last week. This was her second time having to go to the hospital in the last year. She has asthma problems and usually we can keep her breathing and wheezing problems under control using a combination of nebulizer treatments, but sometimes she just gets too bad and it's more than we can help her with at home. Last week it got really bad so Matt came home from work and took her to the Drs. office and they tried to help her there, but ultimately had to send her to the hospital.

She was really good and brave and did a great job. She's pretty much got the Dr. thing down pat. She lifts her shirt up when they come in (so they can listen to her lungs) and she would hold up her hand or foot evertime the nurse would come in to change her PulseOx thingy. All the nurses and medical students just loved her. In fact, after we were done getting her second set of Xrays, the xray technician let her pick a toy and they were wheeling her back to her room, when one of the residents (I think) came running up with this big stuffed doggy and said, "I've just been waiting for the cutest little girl to give this doggy lots of love." Needless to say, she litterally chucked her first, dinky little toy, and clinged onto that doggy and never let go the rest of the time.

We're happy she's doing better and home now, but unfortunately she's pretty doped up on lots of medicine that makes her a little...wired, to say the least. She's on about 8 different meds right now and they make her really jittery and sweaty. At least she can breath though.
